Lili (Nilüfer Yildirim)

Kräftige Farben und eine selbstbewusste Zeichnung bilden die Grundlage für Lilis Arbeit. Das menschliche Gesicht steht im Mittelpunkt ihrer Betrachtung oder vielleicht auch Selbst-betrachtung. Meistens sind ihre Figuren weiblich und es sind die großen, ausdrucksstarken Augen, die den Betrachter oder die Betrachterin fesseln. Die Farbigkeit ihrer Blätter täuscht zunächst eine heitere Stimmung vor. Tatsächlich tritt diese Einschätzung jedoch bald in den Hintergrund, denn Lilis Gesichter lächeln für gewöhnlich nicht. Sie sind vielmehr aufmerksame Beobachter, erfüllt von Sorge um ihr Umfeld und der Überzeugung, nicht gleichberechtigt oder wirksam handeln zu können.

Lili beteiligte sich an den Ausstellungen „Lebensfreude“ (2016) und Extinction Manual – Anleitung zum Aussterben (2019) im KunstRaum Weißenohe.

Lili’s work is based upon powerful colors and a strong outline. The human face stands in the center of her consideration and reflection and probably the faces shown in her drawings are rather the many variations of a never ending self-portrait. Most of her figures appear female and it’s these big, expressive eyes, which will first attract the spectator. The gay tones in her paintings pretend a happy mood, at first. In fact this rating will step back, inevitably, because Lili’s faces rarely crack a smile. They rather belong to attentive surveyors in full concern about their social environment and the conviction to act ineffectively or not fully emancipated.

Lili’s work was selected by jury for Weissenohe exhibitions in 2016 (Lebensfreude) and 2019 (Extinction Manual).
